Sun is peeking out!

Good morning! Woke up to a freezing fog this morning. All of the trees, etc. are covered with heavy ice. Will be so pretty once the sun is shining brightly. I will post pictures then but wanted to show you some pictures from our backyard this morning.

The girls are not enjoying the snow as much as they did the first night. Of course, neither am I! Here are some pictures of the girls this morning. Allie is saying "I am SO over this now!"

Bud and I ventured out to McDonald's to pick up breakfast for the kids. It is so nice having a jeep because we can pretty much go wherever we want without too much trouble. Bud slid a little on our neighborhood streets. The main roads are pretty slick yet but everything refroze to solid ice overnight. It was only 17 degrees this morning when I woke up.

Here is a picture of some snow on the back patio table.....

Will post some more pictures later. Time to get some laundry and cleaning done! Am heading to Maumelle on Wednesday!!!!! YIPPIE!

Stay safe, stay dry!

Ready for Spring!

We had a full day yesterday of freezing rain, sleet and snow. I really don't know how much we got but I'm thinking about 6 to 7 inches. It is so pretty! I wish that I had thought about putting out a bowl earlier in the day so that we could have made snow cream! Just not really too fond of gathering snow that has been on the ground.....too many other things could be in THAT snow!

Little Buddy walked over to Mimi's and Poppy's yesterday afternoon. They live 2 miles away. He said that when he first headed out.....he thought "this isn't so bad" but when he got about halfway there....was thinking that that wasn't the stupidest thing that he had even done! It was really snowing like crazy and he was covered with snow by the time he got to Mimi's and Poppy's house!

Bud picked up Rhyno and Fiance on his way home from work. We fixed tacos for supper and then had a wild game of Spades. Fiance and Bud were almost to the point of 'taking it outside' during the game! Bud would bid like 5 and Fiance wanted to go "Neal" but he told her that she wasn't ready to do that so he talked her into bidding 2 tricks. Well, they couldn't even get FIVE tricks and he told her that he had planned on HER picking up what he couldn't! She told him that she barely got the TWO that he wanted her to bid! Well, this happened for 2 more hands so not sure if she will be Bud's partner in the near future!

THEN we decided that it would be a perfect night to get in the hot tub! It was really nice when you were IN the hot tub but getting out and running back inside the house......not so much fun! Our hair was frozen from the snow/sleet still falling! Here are some pictures of our hot tubbing:

We had a lot of fun even though we froze after getting out! Was nice to change out of the wet swimming suit and get into warm jammies and snuggle by the fire!

Got up this morning and fixed a big breakfast....bacon, eggs and toast. Now Little Buddy and Rhyno are so bored and are driving me crazy! haha Guess I will see if I can find a board game or something to entertain them!

Will post more later.

Stay warm, stay dry, stay safe!

Snowing, snowing, snowing!

Today is Chloe's official due date but apparently she is stubborn like her daddy! Little Mama said that when she had her doctor's appointment.....they told her that Chloe isn't even making her way to the birth canal or indicating that she is even 'thinking' about being born yet! Maybe she needs a GPS or better yet, a calendar to let her know what time it is! BUT....we are glad that she has postponed her arrival due to icy road conditions in Northwest Arkansas and even Central Arkansas! Little Mama asked me today if I would come down Wednesday and help them get ready for their trip to the hospital.....not only will I but they couldn't keep me away now!!!! I have been waiting for this grandbaby not just for MONTHS but for YEARS! I have prayed for this baby for so long and I have been blessed to have my prayer answered! Now I don't want to be demanding or anything but I wouldn't mind being blessed with many many grandbabies!

Okay.....now for some pictures of what we woke up to this morning! Poor Bud's SUV was covered with ice......and when I got inside of it to turn on his defrosters.....the ice was so thick on all of the windows that you could NOT see outside at all! Bud was a little concerned about my walking out to defrost his windows but I was already running around all over with my camera so no worries there!

Here are some pictures taken from our backyard.....Poor Allie is having a terrible time trying to do her business on that icy grass. Mimi suggested I de-ice her an area but hello.....what do you suppose the chances would be that I would de-ice the perfect place for her! Has she not ever seen her go out and go all over the whole backyard finding THE perfect place!!!???!!!!

The above picture is the top of the pergola on our back deck.....we have had more freezing rain and sleet but it has changed over to all snow now and I am loving it! They are predicting about 7 inches of snow today. I think Little Buddy is getting restless though! He has been pacing from his room to the fireplace to his room to the pantry to.......just pacing and pacing and pacing!

I will probably post more pictures later of the snow that we are getting so until then......

Stay warm and stay safe!

The calm before the storm........

Well, I just watched the weather forecast and they are predicting some major wintry weather....starting out with freezing rain and then 1/4 to 1 inch of sleet and on top of this heavy snow from 4 to 10 inches. And do they not know that my granddaughter may decide to be born and I cannot be stuck here?! Major anxiety going on here!!!! I told Sonny Bono to tell Little Mama to go on bedrest and if she felt the urge to push.....just breathe through it till I can get there! He said he would tell her but didn't know if that would 'fly'! I'm thinking pretty much it won't fly either!
I am finally posting pictures of my new little fish. I haven't named him yet. Rhyno wants to name him Treat but that isn't going over very well with Allie....she is beginning to look at him like he IS a treat! I'm taking suggestions! Here is are a couple of pictures of him:

I love the blue fish against the red rocks. Fiance actually suggested that! She was right!

Here is a little peek into my oven....meatloaf and baked potatoes......will throw in some garlic bread:

The television anchors just suggested that people run to the grocery stores before this major storm hits! Oh. my. goodness! I am so glad that I went this morning!!!! May run to Dime's and pick up some hamburger meat.

Bud is in Muskogee today and tomorrow. I haven't talked to him but one quick phone call between meetings this afternoon. He is supposed to go back for a luncheon on Friday but I'm not looking for that to happen.....either because of Little Mama going into labor or the wintry weather or both!

I think tonight will be a good night to snuggle on the couch with a good book and this:

Well, I need to go and peek at my supper. Don't want to burn everything!!!!!

Stay warm and stay safe!

Grandparents...........

Had adoration this afternoon.....it was good....it was emotional as well. Just thinking that next week this time.....I will be a grandma.....or a GiGi! I was thinking about my own grandparents and how blessed I was to have such loving, caring grandparents. I was thinking back about how Grandma and Grandpa would take us to the store and we got a soda and candy! Grandma knew how much I loved banana pudding and I don't remember ever visiting that I didn't get my banana pudding! I never had it at home.....for some reason....so it was really a special treat! I still love my banana pudding! And I remember their old farmhouse didn't have heat except for what the old wood stove produced and we would be so loaded down with quilts that you really could NOT move once you were snug in the bed! It was awesome. And I remember going for a bike ride in the mud and poor Grandma had to hose off our bikes and clean us up but I never heard her raise her voice or say a bad word about anyone. And I was remembering Grandma or Omi as she was later called when she had great-grandchildren. I never heard her raise her voice or say a negative thing about anyone either. What godly women I had for grandmothers! I prayed today that they would guide me and pray for me to be the kind of grandmothers that they were. And I prayed that Chloe would know how very much I love her as I knew how loved I was by my own grandmothers. I have such good good memories.....and I know that my sons are blessed by that same love that my parents have for them. I know that they have their own special memories of their Mimi and Poppy times and I cannot wait to start making special memories with Chloe. I prayed for Chloe's safe arrival and her mommy's safety during the childbirth. And then I felt so close to my grandparents....I know that they were there with me in that chapel blessing me with their love even now. I cried but they were happy tears and I felt their love and blessings today as I thought about becoming a grandma myself.

Chloe's room....

Here are a few pictures of Chloe's room. We thought if we folded her clothes......she would hear us oooohing and aaaahing and want to see what the fuss was about! Will let you know how that works out!

We are ready, Chloe........♥

Love,

GiGi

No Chloe yet.....

She just doesn't want to come out into this cold cold world and I can't say that I blame her. Little Mama just has to explain over and over at each visit to another doctor and/or nurse her medical history. Is all of that NOT in her medical charts and do they not read that? I would be frustrated as well and depending on what doctor she sees....is what answer she will get to her questions. No consistency whatsoever. BUT the good news is that she will meet with the anesthesiologist and they will determine what her options are for the delivery. So...that will be good!

We are going to work in Chloe's room this afternoon and organize a little. Little Mama just needs to get her mind off of her hectic frustrating morning so we will try to do some fun things. May attempt to do a little knitting and crocheting even.

Bud is going to take off work about 2 p.m. and come down. We will head back home in the morning. I am hoping that my jeep will be ready Tuesday and I will find a way down here to pick it up or wait till the weekend. Well, can't really do that because Bud will be leaving town...this is his last weekend at home.....hmmmmmm.

Will post pictures of Chloe's room later today.

Stay warm!

Quick note in the wee hours of the morning!

Well, it isn't really wee hours but for ME....it is wee hours! My body doesn't look too fondly on being up and dressed before the sun is up and shining! hahaha BUT today there is a good reason to be up and dressed. We are heading to Little Mama's doctor's appointment and there is a good chance that she will be admitted and I will officially be a GiGi soon! Will keep you posted! In the meantime....here is what I enjoyed last night:

It is 12 degrees here this morning with wind chill of -3 but back home it is 1 with wind chill of -17 so I am a LOT warmer than the family this morning. I pray that they will stay safe and warm today. I am loving spending time with Sonny Bono and Little Mama but am missing my family as well. Wish they were here!

Stay warm,
GiGi

Mini vacation in the warm south!

Well, it IS warmer here than back home......twice as warm I think! It is like 24 here and 12 there! I am sooooo lucky! hahaha I loaded up my jeep yesterday morning and headed to Maumelle to spend time with Sonny Bono and Little Mama.....(new name for Mrs. Sonny Bono....much better name I think)! I got within blocks of their home and my jeep overheated! Luckily, I was able to pull over and called Sonny Bono. It had cooled down so we drove to the house and made some phone calls. I took it in to Christian Brothers Automotive this morning thinking.....flush and fill right? Not so much......now thinking blown gasket....going to go ahead and put in new water pump, new thermostat, new radiator cap....and if the head isn't cracked....we are looking at $1500...... : ( Well, it could always be worse, right?) I was very lucky to have made it here without having trouble and very lucky that my mom insisted that I borrow her cell phone in case I had trouble! If everything goes according to plan (like WE are hoping), I will have my jeep back Tuesday. So.....I had planned to go to the doctor with Little Mama in the morning and then head home but now, will stay here and Bud will have to come and pick me up. We are also thinking that Little Mama MAY be admitted if she is 3 cm dilated so maybe we can welcome Chloe Ann before we head back home! How cool would that be!?!

Yesterday, Little Mama and I had lunch at Dixie Cafe and then did a little shopping. We shopped at Gordman's and I found a pair of walking pants for Mom for $9.99! They have the bright neon green trim on the sides....won't she look cute wearing those at the Mall walking?! Yessir! She will! Then we headed to Hobby Lobby. I bought Chloe Ann a little white wicker hamper for her room. It is so cute. I will post pictures when I post pictures of her room soon. It has a little stuffed dog head on the top and is lined with pink gingham......soooo cute! We then met her mom and step dad at Senor Tequila's in Little Rock......good good Mexican. It was the first time I met her mom and step dad and they were very nice.

This morning Little Mama and I got the jeep to the automotive place by 7 a.m. and then headed to Bob's Diner for breakfast in Conway. We didn't have wintry weather so were able to go out. Looks like Springdale got more wintry weather so no school again. Little Buddy is going to be getting bored soon! He has been home for almost three weeks! We went to Hobby Lobby after breakfast and got some yarn. We are going to maybe do some knitting and crocheting. We came home and Little Mama fixed a frozen pizza for lunch....it was actually very good. I ate TWO slices good!!!!! Her stepbrother is coming over for dinner tonight so I will get a chance to meet him as well. I've enjoyed spending time with my first born son while he awaits for his first born daughter! I am so very proud of my son......he is such a loving, giving son, grandson, brother, husband and now will soon be a daddy. And I know that he will be a very good daddy.....Chloe Ann is one lucky little girl to have a mommy and daddy who so love her already.....not to mention all of the grandparents, great-grandparents who already love her and cannot wait to spoil her!!!!!

I brought my camera and promise to take pictures for my next post! My bad! I know!

Sonny Bono built us an awesome fire when he got home from work so I'm off to sit by it so will sign off for now.

Stay warm,
GiGi

First snow of 2010

We woke up to about 4 inches of snow this morning! We were surprised thinking it would miss it. They had predicted maybe an inch. We took the jeep out and ran to Neighborhood Market....needed a few items. Didn't have any trouble....took our time and the sand trucks were out doing their jobs. The main roads were not too bad if you took your time and were careful. Side roads not so much! Went by to pick up Rhyno and Fiance and Olive.....came home and had a snowball fight. I took pictures and fiance kept me safe by deflecting the incoming snowballs that the guys were aiming at me!

It was fun! Bud has a pot of beans in the crock pot using the ham bone that we had from our ham supper last night. It smells good but I'm not a real bean person!

Got the Christmas decorations taken down and packed away yesterday. Still have the garland around the front door outside and will try to get that down today. It always looks so bare after the holidays. Here are some pictures of the entryway and mantel.

Well, I had some peanuts roasting in the oven and forgot about them....they may be a little more roasted than they should be! Bud kept saying he smelled something. I was thinking the beans....that is what I was smelling and then he asked what was in the oven....that reminded me! Ooops!

Stay warm and stay safe!
